Counselling

Psychotherapy

I have been working both in private practice and the voluntary sector for several years. This has allowed me to gain experience with many varied issues. I enjoy helping people work through issues they have struggled with, be it either for a short while or many years.

My approach is an eclectic one drawing from many different theories to help a client both understand their issues and to work their way out of certain bad behaviour patterns they have developed. Although the theories I draw from work well, it is still very important to me that I listen to a client and understand their world. By doing this I help the clients attain a better way of life.

Counselling takes the time to explore you, to find out who you really are and what you really want. Then you can start working out how to get there.

Couples counselling

Being in a couple can sometimes become difficult. Help each other to understand one another better and work through issues that may be causing problems in your relationship. Identify destructive patterns of behaviour which may keep occurring. Learn better ways of communicating and work together to find a shared view of your futures. To improve your relationship and quality of life together. Couples counselling can be a way of working together to improve your relationship. Also it can be a way of exploring if being a couple is the right thing for you both. Couples who are in agreement to separate or divorce can use couples counselling to check this is the right thing to do and if so to discuss how to go about the best way to go about a split.

I am an accredited and registered Professional member of the National Counselling Society, a registered member of BACP and am fully professionally insured.

Our first session may be a telephone consultation, it is an opportunity for us to talk together about what has led you to seek counselling. It is also an opportunity to get an idea of how it would be for us to work together and whether or not counselling could be a useful way forward for you.

Ashley holds sessions at the Craven Clinic in Skipton and at Farfield in Keighley

Standard prices are £40 for a 1 hour session. Couples counselling is £45 per session.
