What is BWRT® ?

BWRT® stands for BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®, a model of psychology and psychotherapy created by UK professional therapist, Terence Watts, MCGI. It's a totally confidential method that does not require you to reveal your private information or personal secrets to your therapist and it is carried out in a completely conscious state.

It does not use hypnosis or any concepts that might be considered mystical or unscientific - it's completely logical, practical and down-to-earth, and for it to succeed only needs you to know what you want to change in your life.

Only Certified Practitioners have been trained to deliver BWRT® and all have to adhere to a strict ethical code. You can find out more at

Is BWRT® for me?

BWRT® does not involve hypnosis - it is a unique new concept based on proven scientific concepts and the latest understanding of how the human brain actually works. It is more practical and logical than some other therapies available. Many of the people I see have previously received other forms of therapy which have not worked as well as they might have liked, and BWRT® can succeed where those have not. Take a look at the following statements:

  • Sometimes I feel I sabotage myself or let myself down.
  • Despite really wanting to do something, I find I'm unable to do it.
  • Sometimes I feel that I limit myself or there is something blocking my progress in life.
  • At times I feel I give up too easily or feel unmotivated to do something. Sometimes I find myself putting things off or procrastinating.
  • I have certain fears or feelings that seem irrational when I think about them, but I can't seem to stop those feelings.
  • Sometimes events in life just seem to trigger uncomfortable feelings and I have no idea why.
  • Other therapies I've tried haven't worked as well as I would have liked.
  • Something has happened in the past that I just can't seem to get over.
  • I occasionally feel angry, sad, anxious or low for no apparent reason.

If one or more of these statements seem true to you, then you might find you could benefit from BWRT®. There are many issues with which BWRT® could potentially help. To find out more about how it might help you, please contact me to discuss your needs in detail.

Perhaps most importantly, BWRT® can be a fast therapy when compared to many other therapies, and, depending on the presenting issue, could require only a few sessions and you might even start to notice a difference on the same day! Some deep-seated issues may take a bit longer to resolve, and, as with any therapy, you will be required to play your part, but most of that is simple. BWRT® is also a very private therapy - I will only require a minimal amount of information from you and, unlike some other forms of therapy, you will not have to discuss past experiences which you might find uncomfortable. You do not have to tell me what you are thinking or share any intimate personal details.

All BWRT® Practitioners must be registered with the Institute of BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (MIBWRT) and will be able to show you a current membership certificate. Only registered practitioners are entitled to display the official seal on their website and other materials.
