Rebecca Andrews

BA (hons), PG Diplomas, UKATA member

I am an experienced counsellor with Postgraduate Diploma qualifications in both Transactional Analysis Counselling and also Integrative Psychotherapy. As well as the Craven Clinic, I work at a clinic in Keighley and also have my own rural practice.

I am a member of UKATA, the UK Association for Transactional Analysis, and I receive regular clinical supervision.

It is widely thought that an important factor in a successful therapeutic experience is that you trust and respect the counsellor you meet, so I take an open, warm and down to earth approach. I welcome you to ask questions and engage in the process in a way that suits you.

I will use an initial assessment session to ask you about yourself and your story, why you would like counselling and what you want from it. After that you can take time to decide whether you would like to proceed. If you do, we will have an agreed focus for our time together. This means that we concentrate on what matters to you.

Transactional Analysis is a great therapeutic model, which focuses on developing our sense of autonomy and 'okayness' with ourselves and the world around us. It contains lots of theory about how personality develops and what motivates us in different circumstances. During counselling you might wish to learn about that theory or you might prefer to leave that entirely to me. Whether in the forefront or the background, it will always provide a strong underpinning for our sessions.

Sessions cost £45 per 50 minutes. I currently have availability at the Craven Clinic on Thursday afternoons. You are welcome to phone or email me if you have any questions before booking a first assessment session.
